The post processing for the sign actually involved a little bit more than Nik's Pro Contrast filter. I also added two more layers, a curves layer and a brightness/contrast layer, which gave the final punch to the image. I love what you did to the sky, and the tree in the foreground. Did you use the Color Efex Pro Tonal Contrast filter in the image of the sign?
